Skopje, September 11 — Matto Napoletano, the renowned trattoria from Skopje, has once again earned a place among the best pizzerias in the world.
According to the latest ranking of 50 Top Pizza, published yesterday, Matto Napoletano is ranked 81st in the world, improving its previous position and making a significant leap.
Matto Napoletano is the only pizzeria from Macedonia in this ranking of the Food Guide 50 Top Pizza.
'This global recognition caps off an incredibly successful year for us. Earlier this year in Barcelona, we were named the 16th best pizzeria in Europe for 2024, marking our highest historic ranking in a place where you know the competition is the toughest. Additionally, since then, we proudly hold the Peroni award for 'Best Beer Service' for 2024 in Europe', Matto Napoletano's team tells Skopje.IN.
First place in the 50 Top Pizza World 2024 ranking was awarded to Una Pizza Napoletana from New York. Second place was shared between Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria and I Masanielli – Francesco Martucci from Naples and Caserta. Third place went to The Pizza Bar on 38th from Tokyo.
Last year, Matto Napoletano was ranked 99th in the world and 25th in Europe, while in 2022 it was ranked 41st in Europe.
The Food Guide 50 Top Pizza was established in 2017 by a group of Italian food and beverage journalists. Each year, they compile a list of the best pizzerias in Italy, Europe, Asia, and the United States.
