Skopje, April 18 — As of today, all retailers in Macedonia, like supermarkets, pharmacies, and stores selling electronics and furniture, are required to publish the prices of their products daily on their official websites. Only micro-retailers, those employing up to 10 people, are exempt.

Retailers must display the product name, the selling price, the unit price, a description, availability, and the regular price. For products sold at promotional or discounted prices, retailers must also indicate the regular price, the percentage or value of the discount, as well as the duration of the promotion or sale.

Prices must be updated every working day by 10 AM. In case of an unintentional technical error in updating product prices, the retailer must correct the mistake within 24 hours.

For example, you can see how it looks on the websites of retailers like Stokomak, Tinex, and KAM.

This requirement follows amendments to the Consumer Protection Law, passed on February 25 this year. Failing to comply can result in fines ranging from €500 to €10,000. Depending on the size of the market, more severe penalties may also apply — including closure of the store for 15 days.
