Skopje, August 1 — Starting from the winter season, several new direct routes will be launched from Skopje, connecting the city with Prague, Madrid, Stockholm, Cologne, and Bari. These come in addition to the previously announced route to Larnaca.
Flights to Stockholm and Bari will begin on October 27, operating on Mondays and Fridays. From December 15, they’ll also run on Wednesdays, increasing to three weekly departures.
Meanwhile, flights to Larnaca and Madrid are set to launch on October 28. The Larnaca route will run on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while the Madrid route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Flights to Prague will begin on December 15, with departures every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Cologne route is expected to launch in December, though it’s not yet available in Wizz Air’s booking system.
All other flights are already available for booking at wizzair.com and via the WIZZ mobile app.
Flights from Skopje to Cologne and Stockholm were previously available but later discontinued. The new Stockholm route will now fly to Arlanda Airport instead of Skavsta.
The new routes are subsidized by the Macedonian Government.
Wizz Air also announced it will add a sixth aircraft to its Skopje base, and that its entire Skopje fleet will be upgraded to the latest Airbus A321neo aircraft by the end of this year. These changes, the company said, will increase its capacity by 60%.
Additionally, the airline will increase the number of weekly flights from Skopje to Bratislava, Karlsruhe, Ljubljana, Nuremberg, and Paris during the winter schedule.
