
Skopje, January 19 — Macedonian cuisine has been ranked 47th in the world, with a rating of 4.16 out of 5, according to the 2024/25 list of the top 100 national cuisines by the food guide TasteAtlas. This marks significant progress from the last year, as it has advanced from 61st to 47th place in the world rankings.
The ranking is based on 477,287 valid ratings across 15,478 dishes in the TasteAtlas database, with these cuisines earning the highest average scores.
Among the top Macedonian ‘must-try’ foods are Zelnik, Makalo, Sarma, Ajvar, and Ohrid trout.
The top 10 national cuisines for 2024/25, according to TasteAtlas, are Greek, Italian, Mexican, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Indonesian, French, Japanese, and Chinese.
