Skopje, January 24 — The construction of the logistics and distribution center of the German international discount chain Lidl, which operates over 12,000 stores, began today in the Recica industrial zone in Kumanovo.

The investment amounts to 80 million euros and will create more than 150 jobs. The logistics center will be on an area of 63,000 square meters and include a complex with a main building, administrative offices and advanced infrastructure.

In recent months, Lidl has published dozens of job vacancies in Macedonia.

According to the Macedonian media, a Lidl store is currently being built only in Bitola, while locations are being prepared in several other cities. The company in Macedonia was founded in 2021, and unofficially, the first stores in the country are scheduled to open in 2026.
