Skopje, November 1 — The price of heating in Skopje will increase by 4.51% starting in November, the Energy Regulatory Committee (RKE) announced. This price increase will be applicable to consumers who are connected to the ESM (Power Plants of North Macedonia) system.

According to calculations, this means that the average bill of 1,800 denars will increase by 80 denars.

The regulatory committee stated that the requested price increase for delivered thermal energy to consumers was over 50%, while they approved a 4.51% increase.

"With these decisions, the price remains stable for the citizens, and the three companies of ESM for supply, distribution, and production of heating energy are practically forced to make the Belasica heat pipe operational as soon as possible so that the system can work economically and to fully use the heating energy from TETO", president of RKE, Marko Bislimoski said.

In Skopje, heating energy is supplied to nearly 64, 000 households. The heating season in Skopje began on October 15 and will last until April 15.
