Skopje has introduced a new measure banning the disposal of waste in public containers between 22:00 and 06:00, effective November 17. Individuals caught breaking the measure face a €50 fine, while legal entities can be fined between €1,300 and €1,800, or more in certain cases.
In the initial period, only warnings will be issued
The measure is presented as an effort to restore order to the municipality’s waste-management system.
The Public Enterprise Communal Hygiene said the measure is aimed primarily at legal entities, which, they note, often dispose of waste improperly and during late-night hours.
The Skopje City Council adopted the decision at a session held on November 14.
