With 417% growth in the last five years, the capital of Macedonia, Skopje, is at the top, that is, in the second place for fastest growing remote work hubs, according to the website Nomad List.
The highest growth, according to this website, was recorded in the previous year, 2022, with 173%, as well as in 2021 with 114%.
Skopje is also ranked second on the list of consistently growing remote work hubs with affordable real estate options for foreigners.
In the overall official ranking of Nomad List, Skopje is in the 87th place with a total score of 3.18 out of 5, with 71% of the website users who liked it, and 29% who disliked it. The ranking states that quality of life score, family score, community score and fun is "okay".
Skopje is also considered safe with an affordable cost of living - $1,271 per month, but considered as "bad" regarding "female and LGBTQ friendly", along with nightlife.
